How do I set my prices to be Tax Exclusive or Tax Inclusive?

You can set your prices to be tax exclusive or inclusive to change how your prices are displayed on your estimates, self-scheduler, appointments, and invoices.

Gazelle will always show the price listed on your Master Service List item. By setting these prices as Tax inclusive or exclusive, you define what happens with those prices in different situations. By default, your pricing is set to be tax exclusive. Here's the difference:

Tax Exclusive: Gazelle will show the price listed on your Master Service List items without adding tax to it wherever your price is shown. This includes on the estimates, self-scheduler, appointments and invoices. On invoices and estimates, we will add your tax percentage amount as a subtotal and then add that to the total price. On the self scheduler, you can adjust the price display to either hide the price or or include a label of "+tax".

Tax Inclusive: Gazelle will show the price listed on your Master Service List items wherever your price is shown (estimates, self-scheduler, appointments, and invoices). On invoices and estimates, we will breakout the tax and service item subtotals to show beside the total price. On the self scheduler, you can adjust the price display to either hide or include a label of "(incl. tax)"

Here's how to set this up:

Step 1: Setup your list of taxes
Step 2: (Optional) Set any default tax and/or create tax filters.
Step 3: Click on the default tax pricing mode and choose between Exclusive and Inclusive.
Step 4: Save. Any changes made will be for any invoices or estimates created after you save. Existing records will not be affected.

Note: Be sure to adjust any prices in your Master Service List and adjust the Service Cost Display on the Self Scheduler settings to reflect this choice. For example, if you have chosen Tax Inclusive, make sure that the price entered includes the tax amount.

You can override these defaults for specific clients by going to their record and clicking "Tax Handling". The choose the tax method you want the client to see.
