With the fast breaking news of COVID-19 and the announcement that all in-person contact needs to be reduced, it raises the question, what does this mean for my business?

Should I temporarily pause my business?

This is a decision that needs to be quickly decided by each individual business owner. This decision has three key components: legal, civic, and personal.

Legal - Are you legally obligated to stay home? (Yes or No)

You need to check with your local government to ensure you are allowed to travel from home to home to provide non-essential services.

Civic - Do I believe it is my civic duty to limit my exposure? (Yes or No)

After you pass the 'legal' threshold you have to consider if you believe you have a civic duty to the people in your community.  The decision you make today is possibly your best (and only) chance to protect the vulnerable people in your community.

Personal - Am I putting myself or someone I am close to at risk? (Yes or No)

We all have families and loved ones who may be immunocompromised. If this is the case, you might have a zero-tolerance for exposure for personal reasons.

If you answer "Yes" to any of these questions there is a compelling reason to temporarily "Pause" your business operations.
