When two records are merged, one record is considered the Sending record and the other record is the Receiving record. In general, the data in the sending record will be added to the Receiving record or be ignored if the Receiving record already has the information. The Sending record is then deleted.
This process is permanent and cannot be undone once it is completed.
Merging Client Records:
Specifically when a client record is merged with another, this process copies over specific data and adds to the currently listed data in the Receiving record including:
Timeline
Notes
Contacts
Added as secondary contacts and archived.
Piano data
NOTE: Pianos have the option of being copied over directly or merged with another piano on the Receiving Clients record.
Scheduled custom messages
Reassigned to the receiving record to be sent to the primary contact.
Other client settings and fields will honor the settings on the receiving record. If the Receiving Client is blank, then the Sending Client's data will be used instead.
This includes:
Referred By
Referred Clients
Client Type
Preferred Location
Any Custom Fields
Data found in the Preferred Technician and Reminder assignment sections will not be merged, as the process honors the Receiving clients data, including if it is left blank.
Check out this article for how to merge duplicate client records. If you need to merge a large number of clients, you can merge clients in bulk.
Merging Piano Records:
When a Piano record is merged with another, the process copies over specific data and adds to the currently listed data in the Receiving record including:
Timeline
Piano Notes
Photo Gallery
Measurements
Other client settings and fields will honor the settings on the receiving record. If the Receiving Client is blank, then the Sending Client's data will be used instead.
